Many of you may wonder what a lariat necklace is. We at Teddy think it’s “knot” your ordinary necklace! A lariat is a piece of jewelry that is usually made up of a long strand of chain and accented with either beads or semi- precious stones. Lariats are simple, chic, classic and timeless pieces of jewelry that are always being reinvented in order to keep up with the fashion trends of today.
Unlike a regular necklace that clasps at the back of your neck, lariat necklaces are very versatile. They can be worn in many different ways depending on the design. For example, (pictured above) we have this long, funky orange horn lariat. This lariat can be worn short by wrapping it around like a scarf or long by simply tossing it over your neck and tying it in a knot. We also love this gorgeous blue quartz and golden nugget lariat. A shorter lariat such as this one or the double strand carnelian lariat can be knotted and worn much like bolo tie.
Try one on for size! We promise you’ll have fun experimenting different ways to wear a lariat. Best of all is you can adjust the necklace according to your outfit. Short like a choker, for a buttoned up sophisticated day time look or loose and long for a more sensual plunging neckline night time look.
